Firm Focus and History

Our firm focuses primarily on bankruptcy, estate planning, probate, business planning, corporate and LLC creation.

Previous Employment Summary

Our bankruptcy firm was established in 1978 and has been located in the Alford Building ever since. We have 30 years of jury trial litigation experience and appeals handled. Since the creation of the firm, we've dealt with over 1,000 bankruptcy matters.

Activities and Awards

I previously worked at the Law Offices of Donald Delgrande as an associate in 1977. I have been in solo practice since 1978.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

The best clients are those I see who have educated themselves about bankruptcy law and who have their documents and facts ready at the first meeting. They recognize the importance of what has to be done.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

This is a "given." This office always reviews documents presented by clients.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

This may be more expensive and not worth the effort in the long run. In bankruptcy law, the courts have strict rules about assisting in pro per debtors. I am willing to try it on a trial basis.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I wanted to assist others, to be independent, and to be effective as a member of society.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

I have over 30 years of experience as an attorney and I've been working in the area of bankruptcy law since 1978.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

I chose my primary area of practice because it joins finance with personal contact.

What do you like best about your career?

I like meeting and helping people out of their financial dilemmas. I also enjoy the diversity of the clients I encounter and their different life stories. It is rewarding to meet new people and help to solve their debt problems.

Tell us about your law firm:

I have a wonderful administrative assistant named Lisa Hofeling who is attentive to all of my clients' immediate needs. She is a university graduate with 5+ years of office experience.

What are your strengths and style?

I analyze, think and create a wise plan. You get more flies with sugar than with vinegar.

Personal Interests:

I am interested in photography, learning, golf, baseball (Giants), football (49ers), walking, writing, reading, hiking and camping.
