My firm's history dates back to 1951, when William C. Murphy and Robert Hupp joined Frank Reid, Jr., and Lambert Ochsenschlager to form Reid, Ochsenschlager, Murphy & Hupp. Over the years, the firm grew and evolved to become one of the most prominent Illinois law firms outside of Chicago. We continue to prosper sixty years later by respecting both the past and the future.
Kinnally, Flaherty, Krentz & Loran is one of the premier law firms in the Chicagoland area. We have over a century's worth of experience and expertise in these select practice groups: personal injury & wrongful death, general & commercial litigation, workers' compensation, immigration & citizenship, and business counseling & estate planning.
Our lawyers carry on a distinguished legacy of integrity and exceptional advocacy that both defines us and sets us apart. Our success is reflected in the difference we have made to countless people through a relentless pursuit of justice, record-setting multi-million dollar verdicts, and progressive changes in the law.
We are leaders in the community, bar associations and legal education. We have received the highest peer rating for skill and integrity, and many of our attorneys have been designated Leading Lawyers and Super Lawyers, signifying that they are among the top five percent of all Illinois lawyers in personal injury, general & commercial litigation and workers' compensation.
We provide the expertise, resources and facilities of a big city firm without the inconvenience and impersonality of downtown Chicago. We practice throughout the State of Illinois and outside Illinois in select cases.
We care passionately about people and the problems they face. We welcome the opportunity to help you in any of our specialty areas.
I have been employed with my current firm and its predecessor firms for 25 years, essentially since obtaining my law license.

I prefer for clients to address their questions to me and I will perform whatever research is necessary to give them the most accurate and current information available.
I review any document provided to me by a client.
I am very reluctant to coach clients who want to represent themselves.
My father is a successful lawyer, and growing up I witnessed how he enjoyed his job. I chose to become an attorney because his enthusiasm for this profession inspired me.
I was very fortunate to be mentored as a young lawyer by William C. Murphy, who is one of the best trial lawyers in the state of Illinois.
I love to compete. I enjoy the process of researching and evaluating the facts of a case so I can advise my clients as to if I think we can win the trial, or whether we are better off settling the case.
The best thing about my career is being able to make a difference in people's lives.
My partners and I regularly meet to discuss strategies on current and prospective cases. Our experienced support staff works with us to provide our clients with the best personalized service possible. My assistant, Teri, has 25 years of experience in the legal field.
Passionate advocacy and preparation are some of my strengths.
My family, wife and two children, are my main focus.
I am a member of the Board of Directors at my country club, and also volunteer with my wife, who is in charge of a homeless shelter through our church.
Assistant, Teri.

Attorneys have passed a licensing check. Nolo has confirmed that every member attorney has a valid license and is in good standing with the applicable bar associations upon joining the directory.
Directory lawyers are required to notify Nolo immediately if they become the subject of any disciplinary action by any bar association.
