Not yet. However, I have interest in contributing to legal journals with regards to hot topics in the changing face of today's definition of family.
I handle all family law cases including divorce, legal separation, marriage annulment, child custody disputes, child and spousal support, and property division. Also, I aid unmarried couples who have been living together (cohabitation). In addition, I offer help in child or spousal abuse cases. Furthermore, I prepare prenuptial and postnuptial agreements and guide couples through the process of adoption. It is hard to name all of the family law issues that may arise but my clients can trust my practice to assist them in any matter with greatest skill, care, and diligence.
Due to my commitment to ensure clients privacy it is my policy not to discuss individual cases.

My firm guides people through the most difficult and stressful times of their life when dealing with complicated family law matters. I provide fair and assertive representation and unparalleled service focused on the best interests of the client.
My main focus is to make the process easy for my clients in their time of struggle.
Law Offices of Milda Goeriz were established on January 1st, 2008.
Although my office is located in the heart of Walnut Creek., I serve clients throughout the entire East Bay and San Francisco areas (Contra Costa, Alameda, and Solano Counties).
While establishing my practice, I worked pro bono for Bay Area Legal Aid and San Francisco Bar Association Volunteer Legal Services assisting low income individuals and families in marital dissolutions, child custody and visitation, child and spousal support and domestic violence restraining orders. Also, I have advised clients on how to prepare and file divorce forms directly with the court without the assistance of an attorney.
Prior to coming to the United States, I worked as a consultant to the Lithuanian Ministry of Justice advising the Government Representative to the European Court of Human Rights on property rights issues under the European Convention of Human Rights.
Previous to that position, I was employed as a law clerk at a private law practice assisting in all aspects of trial preparation and legal research related to personal injury law, trusts and estates and family law.
I serve the community working pro bono for Bay Area Legal Aid and San Francisco Bar Association Volunteer Legal Services. I also assist the Contra Costa Bar Association Moderate Means Program.
I strongly encourage clients to educate themselves not only on legal issues, but also on financial planning and the best strategies on dealing with stressful changes in life. I also promote clients learning various techniques on creating a prosperous and bright future for themselves as well as their children. My practice has an extensive collection of books on these subjects which clients are welcome to use.
I am willing to review documents prepared by clients.
I am glad to coach clients who want to represent themselves under appropriate circumstances. I feel that in most cases professional representation is crucial; however, limited scope "issue by issue" representation may be sufficient in certain matters.
I wanted a career that was challenging and rewarding at the same time. I feel that I best utilize my skills and talent by helping people who are dealing with very personal matters to navigate the legal system.
I have a European and American legal education and, therefore, I am competent in both legal systems. Furthermore, I am multilingual and speak Lithuanian, German and Russian, thus I am capable in providing services to people with limited English ability.
While working for a psychological help line in Europe, I had the opportunity to receive training in psychology. This experience helped me to acquire a unique set of skills that are invaluable in working with people under emotional distress.
Finally, my experiences as a wife and a mother have allowed me to better understand and relate to my clients' situations.
Family law attracted me as one of the most dynamic and complex areas of practice. It is constantly changing and I enjoy the challenge of the need for continued education and self study. I feel that I am only as good as my ability to adapt to my clients growing needs.
I enjoy working with people and helping them to find solutions. I feel that my work makes a difference, and that makes my career rewarding.
I am a solo practitioner, thus all of my clients receive a lot of direct and personal attention.
My strengths are professional resourcefulness and personal diversity in addition to outstanding communication and negotiation skills. Also, I truly care about serving my clients needs and I am dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of legal training, integrity and personal performance.
I enjoy work with underprivileged children, art, reading, and travel.
