Example Cases

I regularly file Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases to stop foreclosure auctions. Frequently, I am contacted the day before the auction when the homeowner doesn't have any other options and time is running out to save their home. We are able to get the auction stopped and propose a repayment plan that will allow the homeowner to bring the mortgage current so they can keep their home. Firm Focus and History

I opened my firm on July 5, 1999 and focused my practice on representing consumer debtors in Chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcy cases. My primary focus was assisting homeowners in saving their homes from foreclosure using Chapter 13 to reorganize their debts. I expanded my practice to include representing individuals and business in a variety of immigration matters.

I focus on helping people who are suffering from financial problems. I explore all available options that may remedy the situation and use bankruptcy as a last resort. For more information please visit my website http://www.brianwilliamslaw.com.

Previous Employment Summary

I began my career as an attorney associate for a small firm that specializes in consumer bankruptcy law. I learned a lot there, and realized that I would be more satisfied if I started my own practice.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

I believe that clients should have some level of knowledge regarding the legal issues that they face. I try to ensure that my clients understand the legal process and any possible solutions to their problems that may not involve the legal system, and find that the more that the client understands the issues, the more they will get out of my explanations.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I do not review documents prepared by clients.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I do not coach pro se clients.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I decided to become a lawyer because I wanted to be able to help people.

I was offered an attractive position at a firm that practiced primarily bankruptcy law when I graduated from law school. I took the position and enjoyed the work, so when I opened my practice, I continued with bankruptcy.

What do you like best about your career?

I really enjoy being able to help people. I frequently have clients that are distressed when we first meet and get great satisfaction when I am able to help them remedy the problem.
