What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

I feel that knowledge is always a good thing.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Under certain circumstances, I am willing to review documents prepared by clients.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I am unwilling to coach clients to represent themselves as I believe it is incredibly dangerous to the client. There is an old saying: "An attorney who represents himself has a fool for a client." I believe this applies equally to the layman.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

My life experiences led me down many paths which would've been much easier with knowledge of the legal system. I determined not only to educate myself, but to use that education to help others.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

I was the eldest child in a family of four in a single-parent home. I was the first person in my family to attend college and then later, professional school. I worked full-time all the way through college and part-time through law school while also beginning my family. I have two beautiful children. These life experiences provide me with the discipline and passion necessary to be a good attorney.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

It affords the unique opportunity to actually help a person in need.

What do you like best about your career?

I enjoy being able to help people in financial distress.

Tell us about your law firm:

I work with a passionate group of people dedicated to their careers.

What are your strengths and style?

One of my best strengths from a client standpoint is the ability to listen to each story and respond with clarity and compassion. From a professional standpoint, my strengths are discipline and dedication.

Personal Interests:

I am passionate about my family, my dog, gardening and golf.
