The attorneys in my firm always fulfill our Continuing Legal Education hours with seminars related to bankruptcy, bankruptcy litigation and consumer issues in bankruptcy.
We handle all sorts of bankruptcy cases. The typical cases deal with individuals who are just facing difficult financial times and are need of assistance. Our office will not back down from a fight with creditors no matter who they are. We have stopped the IRS from collecting tax money when they have made mistakes, stopped mortgage companies from getting paid on a second mortgage, went after mortgage and finance companies when they failed to adhere to the bankruptcy code to the benefit of our clients and went after attorney's who enter court orders in civil court that were improper because of a pending bankruptcy.

Bach Law Offices, formerly known as Law Offices of Paul M. Bach, was first established in 1999 as a general practice law firm. Shortly after its inception, Bach Law Offices changed its focus from general practice to a concentration in bankruptcy law. Bach Law Offices has been representing bankruptcy clients ever since.
At our firm, we always focus on finding a legal solution that is in the best interest of each client. Although many of our clients do file for bankruptcy; filing bankruptcy is not the answer for every client with financial difficulties, and we have the tools to explain other options for debt-relief and debt management that may provide more appropriate and effective solutions. We will not advise a client to file bankruptcy if we feel it is not the best option.
I first started my legal career as an intern with Weiss & Block, a firm who concentrated in tax law. After a short experience with this office, I relocated to Joliet were I quickly became a junior partner in Codo, Bonds, Zumstein and Konzelman, P.C., where I remained for five years. As my family relocated to the north suburbs, I opened my own practice, which is still in practice today.
I completed the Max Gardner Bankruptcy Boot Camp, a week long seminar geared towards locating and correcting errors of creditors and mortgage companies in bankruptcy and the solutions to the creditor's errors.
I think it is very important for you to educate yourself. The best way to truly understand your rights is to question and seek out answers. It is my firm's responsibility to explain as much as possible to you. There is no such thing as too much knowledge.
Clients frequently prepare documents that need to be reviewed. If I do not review them, it will most likely adversely affect their case.
I am not willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves.
I decided to become a lawyer when I was in grade school. There has always been something about law that intrigued me.
When I graduated from Bradley University, I decided to work for a year before I attended law school. During this year, I became a regional manager for T.C.B.Y. This experience gave me many of the skills which I use today. Even more influential than the experience I had with T.C.B.Y. was my decision to obtain my CPA. The skills I learned during this process have pushed me beyond many of my peers for now I have an understanding of accounting that many others do not have.
My primary are of practice is bankruptcy. This area of law just fell into my lap. I was working as a general law attorney when I got my first bankruptcy case. What I found was that my accounting knowledge, combined with my understanding of the bankruptcy code, mixed great with bankruptcy law and was a wonderful way to use my law license to help others.
The best thing about my career is helping people, or companies, who are down on their finances get a fresh start, save their homes or businesses and get out of the struggling experiences they are currently in.
I was a solo practitioner until May 5, 2005. At that time my wife joined my practice and we have been practicing together ever since. We are a small office and pride ourselves with the fact that our clients can always speak with an attorney. We also have a wonderful paralegal that is very knowledgeable and happy to assist any of our clients to the best of her ability.
I am an attorney who has a very good rapport with other debtor attorneys, judges, trustees and creditor attorneys. I feel that is it very important to keep these relations strong, for with them I am able to provide resolutions to clients' problems that would otherwise never happen. I run my office like a family. Each client is important to me, and I always do my best to help each client resolve their needs.
I enjoy traveling and watching sports. I am also a football official.
