I have been practicing in Gainesville, FL since 1995. I have represented hundreds of clients throughout Northern Florida in state court. My practice has focused on taking cases to trial.
Representing clients accused of crimes in Northern Florida.
I worked as a felony prosecutor during 1993-1995. I have also spent four years working for a firm that focused mostly on plaintiff's personal injury cases. I have extensive experience in litigating both criminal and civil cases.
I have coached youth baseball for the last two years. Additionally, I have led a weekly bible study class for the previous ten years.
A well-educated client is my favorite type of client because they understand their case.
I do not file documents prepared by my clients. However, I encourage my clients to assist me in preparing their case.
I do not believe anyone should represent themselves in criminal court.
I planned to become a lawyer from the time that I was a young boy. I went directly to law school after college, and I became a prosecutor immediately after law school. I enjoy helping people through a difficult period in their lives.
Having worked with nearly a thousand clients during the past fifteen years has helped me to know how to relieve the stress for people during the time their cases is pending. Also, having tried over fifty jury trials in my career has made me very comfortable in taking a case to trial.
I enjoy the people in the criminal justice system and the clients. Helping people accused of crimes is very professionally satisfying.
The stories I hear.
My assistant and I deal directly with the clients. My clients find that it is very easy to contact me directly when they have questions about their cases.
I have an excellent academic background and have worked on both sides of the criminal justice system.
Bible, coaching youth baseball, playing basketball, gardening, and major league baseball.
