Firm Focus and History

We have 45 years of experience in this field. The firm was established in 1963 right after I graduated from law school.

My firm's focus is tenacious and aggressive family law litigation.

Previous Employment Summary

I've practiced law all my life and I'm trained in forensic accounting. I also have experience in business and commercial legal work, which I bring to the table when I practice family law. Additionally, I have a wealth of experience in litigation.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

I encourage my clients to be as proactive as they are capable because is it reduces all costs. I prefer to work with clients who are computer literate because it speeds up the process.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I am willing to review anything once I am retained. I ask clients to write me wish lists or check lists. It's part of the collaborative process which helps to figure out how to approach a case.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I won't take responsibility in this regard. Divorce and custody matters are very complex and it's naïve to think a client can handle the issues at hand given how emotionally involved they are.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I watched the movie "To Kill a Mockingbird" and Atticus was my favorite character.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

There is no substitute for my years of experience practicing law.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

It chose me after years of commercial litigation and tax litigation.

What do you like best about your career?

I like the interesting cases that I have on a daily basis.

Tell us about your law firm:

Everyone who works with me is super intelligent, bright and compassionate.

What are your strengths and style?

My strengths are that I'm a good listener and a lot of my thinking is outside the box.

Personal Interests:

My biggest interest is family. I am also an avid fly fisherman and photography has been a hobby of mine for many years.

Directory lawyers are required to notify Nolo immediately if they become the subject of any disciplinary action by any bar association.
