No.
Here are several examples of cases I have worked with in the past:
I once represented a man who had 5 hours of brain surgery on the wrong side of his brain. I represented a family who had been incarcerated by doctors for over a year in a psychiatric hospital on a sham diagnosis, which resulted in federal indictments of all responsible parties. I also represented parents whose 16 year old had been served alcohol at a local restaurant/bar, became intoxicated and was killed driving home. I represented two teenagers whose vehicle was run over by a drunk truck driver hauling hazardous material.

Andy Vickery and Paul Waldner have practiced law together for 15 years. Mike Mallia joined their partnership in 2006.
The firm handles primarily plaintiffs' personal injury trial cases. Additionally we handle plaintiffs' commercial litigation, and some intellectual property litigation.
I have been involved in the private practice of law my entire career. I began as a law clerk, and then worked as an associate with the firm. Later I became an owner/partner of a firm and merged it with Andy Vickery.
President of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and Past-President of the Houston Trial Lawyers Association. I am a lifetime member of the Board of Directors for Sheltering Arms Senior Services, and was Board Chair four times. For 30 years I have been a United Way volunteer. I mentor at JFK Elementary School, too.
The clients should have a good general understanding on the legal issues that affect their case. It is the lawyer's responsibility to identify these issues, and to educate the clients on them.
Yes I am willing to review documents.
If it has to do with a small matter (i.e. citizens' court) then I'd be willing to coach a client. On the other hand, if the matter is significant, I would counsel against Pro Se representation.
My dad was a social worker and I wanted to be just like him. He told me that if I wanted to really help people, I could get a whole lot more done with a law degree than I could with a degree in social work. This inspired me to become a lawyer.
Six years in the Marine Corps gave me the discipline to do the work necessary to represent my clients. Working as a security guard on the night shift in college for four years, working as a salesman, pizza cook, shoe shine boy, construction laborer, house framer, grocery sacker, vendor, and a host of other jobs made me appreciate how devastating an injury can be to working people.
I chose this area of law because I wanted to represent individuals, not corporations. I enjoy the one-to-one contact with my clients. I could never get any job satisfaction out of helping corporations get more money. I like being on the side of the little guy. I consider myself a little guy.
The best things about my career are the friends I've made, the changes I've been able to create through the cases I've handled, the families I've been able to help and the intellectual challenge law presents me.
It sounds like a cliché, but our firm is a family. Everyone helps everyone. If you're selfish, petty, jealous, gossipy, or back-biting you get shown the door. Everyone, from the receptionist to the senior partners would do anything necessary to pitch in and help one another.
Interpersonal relation is a strength of mine. I really, really like working with people. I like hearing their story. I like making them the center of attention. I like taking people who are virtually ignored in the other areas of their lives and making them feel important and special. I like for people to trust me and be confident that they've chosen the right human to help them.
I like to write and if you'd like you can read some of my short stories on our website: www.justiceseekers.com.
