Firm Focus and History

I started working for Jerrold Bartman in 1998 and he relocated his practice to upstate New York and I was able to take over the Orlando Florida office. Our firm practices only bankruptcy.

Previous Employment Summary

Prior to bankruptcy, I did evictions. Prior to law school, my background was restaurant management.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

It is always a good idea to educate oneself and investigate. Educated clients are more efficient to deal with.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I will look at them, but as their attorney, I would ultimately prepare any documents.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I no longer assist as I have had bad experiences with these people.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I was managing the restaurant at about 9:00 p.m. and a drunk driver hit the doors and was arrested. As a witness, I had to go to testify. I saw the attorneys on both sides and realized I could do that job.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

Restaurant management, as I have dealt with a wide variety of people.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

I liked it and I feel I have accomplished a great deal when my clients can get a fresh start at life.

What do you like best about your career?

Helping my clients get a fresh start, the speed and volume of the cases and the tightly knit bankruptcy bar community.

Tell us about your law firm:

Mr. Harper and I consult with the clients personally and work with the clients at the Petition. We do not send out a 40-page packet. We personally attend the trustee's meeting. We do not have other attorneys cover meetings.

What are your strengths and style?

Working on the case with the client, speedy execution of the Petition (as long as the client provides necessary documents). I am a no nonsense task master. I want the job completed and I don't need characters to enhance the atmosphere. If you want it done, I want it done.

Personal Interests:

Antique cars, pro football, history and politics.
