Family Law
My preference is to help intelligent, practical individuals work through the dissolution process with the least pain possible, financially and emotionally, for all concerned.
Divorce
I represent clients in all aspects of divorce law including child custody and property and support issues.
MA, Dec 1978
Bar Number: 405360
United State Supreme Court; United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit; United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
Massachusetts State Bar Association and the Real Estate Bar Association of Massachusetts.
I routinely attend education programs from First American Title Insurance Company and various other programs.
I represented a man from Bulgaria who was married to a Cuban woman and had an 8-year-old son. When the husband and wife were discussing divorce, the husband sent the child to Bulgaria. The wife went to Probate Court and filed for divorce and had the husband arrested for sending the child out of the country. I then started to represent the husband, and found out that the State Department wanted the entire family out of the country. I was able to get the husband out of jail without the return of the child, but I had to represent him in Probate Court, the Appeals Court, and the Supreme Judicial Court before I was successful.
I represented a woman whose husband took their 2 children to Canada and then to Florida. I worked with the FBI to retain the return of the children from the parental kidnapping.

After working for two years at a general practice law firm, I formed the law firm of Alan J. Pransky, Attorney at Law, in 1980. For the last twenty-seven years, I have represented clients with honesty and integrity in many areas of the law including divorce, child custody, property and support matters, real estate, and civil and criminal cases.
I worked for a general practice law firm in Lynn, MA. from 1978 to 1980.
I am working towards handling FEMA appeals for Katrina victims in Louisiana.
Since 1981 I have taught Paralegal and Criminal Justice courses at Newberry College.
I think the more educated clients are, the better off they are.
Massachusetts has a rule that allows limited representation in Probate Court. I am willing to work with clients under the Limited Representation rule.

To help people at critical stages of their lives, when they are unable to proceed on their own.
My years' of experience practicing law certainly help me to be a better lawyer. I've also always felt that having been trained in a non-Massachusetts law school allows to me to think a little differently than Massachusetts-trained lawyers. I have always found this to be an advantage.
I've always been interested in family law. I was involved in a divorce clinic in law school and I've been involved in family law ever since.
What I like best is the variety of people that I meet and work with, and the variety of cases I handle.
At the law offices of Alan J. Pransky, Attorney at Law, I see clients as more than a case file. I get to know my clients and I understand their goals. From beginning to end, I handle every aspect of their case.
When you are facing the complicated legal issues involving litigation or other legal matters in a family law or real estate matter, you want an attorney who is committed to providing personal service. This is especially important in family law or real estate matters. Clients of large law firms may see different lawyers at every meeting. By meeting personally with clients at every visit, I develop a familiarity with their case that allows me to provide highly effective legal advice.
I offer my clients a realistic assessment of their situation. Every divorce or real estate transaction is unique because of the different needs of those involved. Helping clients recognize those needs and set goals for the representation is necessary. I look at each case on an individual basis and give personalized representation based on the client's goals.
I believe it is important to provide clients with excellent customer service. Client participation is an important part of any legal representation. They should take an active role in their representation, working with their lawyer to achieve a successful resolution. I promptly respond to all inquiries, keeping clients informed and involved.
