Family Law, Bankruptcy and Civil matters for small and personal matters or individuals.
I have been in private practice since 1975.
I think it is wonderful when clients take initiative to educate themselves; in fact, I often encourage my clients to familiarize themselves with the legal aspects of their cases. I do, however, inform them that it is rarely a good idea to second guess an attorney.
One of my services is to review client-prepared documents for those who wish to handle their own legal issues.
I do this routinely.
There are too many reasons to list. In general, because I like to meet and help people.
I have been a lawyer as long as I can remember. I was born into a family of lawyers. The best education I ever received was from my father, whom from a very young age, groomed me to think and act like a lawyer. I began interning in my father's law firm while I was still in law school. I officially joined his firm in 1975.
I like helping people and the more I helped people, the more people I wanted to help. In a sense, you can say I didn't choose family law, it chose me.
First and foremost, helping people, and a close second is meeting with my clients one on one and being able to give them personal attention.
My firm is a two-person office. We have a very relaxed, family-oriented atmosphere. We get to know each of our clients personally and tend to their cases and issues on a personal level. My assistant is very personable and extremely knowledgeable. She is also very caring and resourceful. Issues are addressed almost immediately as she does not allow them to sit on either of our desks. She is my right hand.
Every war ends through settlement negotiations. It is my style to try and settle every matter through negotiations without going into war first. I am a proponent of communication with opposing counsel or side to prevent war. If communication and negotiation does not work, I will go to war and fight for my client and my client's rights.
I am an avid reader, typically reading multiple books at one time. I am also passionate about watching and collecting old movies.
