Example Cases

I represented a woman accused of killing her child by shaking. I brought in the top experts across the country, spending tens of thousands of dollars out of my pocket. She was found not guilty.

I represented a stepfather accused of fifteen counts of rape against his stepchildren. The prosecutor accused me of committing a felony and filed a grievance against me to try to prevent me from representing my client. After spending thousands to prove I did nothing wrong, I represented my client at trial. He is a free man after being found not guilty of all fifteen counts.

Firm Focus and History

I am associated with six additional attorney. We believe in the rights of individuals. The criminal justice system is stacked against defendants. From judges to prosecutors who only care about convictions, and not justice; from social workers to police who fail to do a thorough investigation. My firm stands ready to fight for your rights.

I have been in private practice since 1976. I have tried over 1000 cases, of which about 150 were jury trials. My success rate is very high. Prosecutors know when I am involved in a case; they have their work cut out for them.

Previous Employment Summary

I have a scientific background having worked for Owens Corning Fiberglass as a Chemical Engineer. I am a part-time public defender and was associated with one other attorney my first ten years of practice.

Activities and Awards

I have appeared on the Montel Williams Show twice. I received a standing ovation for a speech at the Reverend Al Sharpton's facility in New York. I have handled a number of high profile cases and have been on TV and in the news numerous times. I have been a lecturer at numerous conferences around the country.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

It is always helpful for clients to educate themselves. However, a little knowledge can be dangerous. In criminal cases, especially, a client should not represent themselves.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I have no problem doing that, but I insist on the final decision as to what to use.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I am willing to assist, but there is no way a person who is not schooled in the law and does not have years of experience in court can handle themselves against a seasoned trial lawyer.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I decided I could do more with my life to help people as a lawyer than I could as a chemical engineer.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

My education as a chemical engineer and owning my own environmental consulting firm gave me a strong background.

My willingness to learn and educate myself is of benefit to my clients.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

One innocent person in custody is too many. The justice system is biased towards convictions, not justice. I believe I can make a difference.

What do you like best about your career?

My reputation for integrity and the respect I have received from my peers and in the community. The incredible joy that I feel when a falsely accused person is acquitted.

Tell us about your law firm:

There is one additional attorney, four staff and six additional attorneys who I have been associated with for over 10 years. My office can handle your legal needs. If we cannot, we will refer you to a skilled lawyer in the area you need.

What are your strengths and style?

I am willing to listen and learn. I hate to lose and do everything I can to understand your case, prepare for court, and try your case. I am not afraid to stand up to prosecutors and judges to protect your rights.

Personal Interests:

I am on the Board of an organization that helps parents with unruly kids. I like travel, music, and golf.
