Example Cases

(a) MARRIAGE IMMIGRATION cases: Many cases are fiancé and marriage based---obtaining a visa for an American's fiancé to come to the United States from a foreign country to marry a U.S. Citizen, and cases where the foreign citizen is already here in the U.S. as a student or a worker or for other reasons, and meets and marries an American Citizen with the desire to immigrate to and live here in the U.S.

(b) BATTERED SPOUSE case: The foreign born female married an American male, who then physically and emotionally abused her, which led to a divorce after a short period of time. The wife then sought to remain in the United States, even though she was no longer married to the U.S. Citizen, on the basis of being a "battered spouse".

(c) DEPORTATION case: Foreign born wife/mother faced deportation because of her arrest and conviction of child neglect and endangerment. However, because we were able to prove that her medical and psychological problems caused her behavior, we were successful in getting her deportation set aside.

(d) RE-ENTRY DENIAL cases: Spouse left U.S. for visit to homeland and denied re-entry to U.S; stranded in her homeland; successful in obtaining approval of visa to re-enter U.S. Similar case where fiancé left U.S. and denied re-entry; case in process.
