Previous Employment Summary

I was a paralegal from 1996 to 2002 for a bankruptcy law firm. I have been practicing bankruptcy exclusively since being licensed in 2003.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Clients need to be wary on the sources available. The internet can give general information but they really need to realize that each case/individual has its own special circumstances that require special attention of a skilled attorney.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

The more information the better. I want clients to take an active role in their case. After all, it is their case.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

Not willing.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I wanted to make a difference and change for those who are unable to do it on their own.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

I have many years of experience in the bankruptcy field and I care about my clients. They are not just another case. These are real people with real problems and concerns that I want to fix.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

I want to give people a fresh start and filing bankruptcy will give them a fresh start to get back on their feet.

What do you like best about your career?

It is rewarding. A thank you from a client is very rewarding and puts in perspective why I chose the career path that I did.

Tell us about your law firm:

There are 3 attorneys who work under me and two legal assistants. Everyone works together as a team and all take on my same strong work ethic.

What are your strengths and style?

I have a strong work ethic and try to always address my clients concerns.

Personal Interests:

I spend as much time with my children and husband as possible when I am not working.

Understanding Fees

Nolo's Licensing Check

Attorneys have passed a licensing check. Nolo has confirmed that every member attorney has a valid license and is in good standing with the applicable bar associations upon joining the directory.

Directory lawyers are required to notify Nolo immediately if they become the subject of any disciplinary action by any bar association.
