Previous Employment Summary

Clerking and working as Associate attorney for various local law firms.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Clients who educate themselves on their legal issues tend to be better prepared for the various steps taken in their cases, and also tend to be ready for those rare and unexpected deviations from the usual course.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I am always willing to review documents prepared by clients unless the documents are irrelevant to their cases.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

Our firm specializes in full-service representation.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

The law is the most efficient method of bringing philosophical principles to work in the real world in order to help people resolve their problems.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

I began studying the law somewhat later in life than most of my peers in law school, and so my previous life experiences have probably informed my study and subsequent practice for the better.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

I found that bankruptcy law was challenging yet it allowed me to resolve many problems in fairly short order. I like being a problem solver.

What do you like best about your career?

I like solving lots of problems and seeing the results of my work, so I enjoy bankruptcy practice more than, say, civil litigation which may involve drawn-out processes.

Tell us about your law firm:

I have a wonderful secretary who is not only attentive to my clients' needs, she also works with me in anticipating exigencies and possible problems. My Associate is also becoming quite seasoned in his experiences working here.

What are your strengths and style?

I have a fairly open, easy-going style and try to work in a collegial manner with opposing counsel, Trustees, and my colleagues.

Personal Interests:

I am interested in the sciences, economics and finance, the arts and literature, sports and outdoor activities, and of course music.
