I established the Law Office of Howard E. Knispel in Commack New York in 2001. I am your neighborhood lawyer, representing clients in Suffolk and Nassau County in the areas of Divorce, Family Law, Real Estate, Criminal and Estates. I will give you the personal attention you deserve. For almost 20 years I have fought aggressively for my clients. Everything from separation agreements, to contested divorces, from misdemeanors to felonies, from residential house purchases to commercial transactions, from simple wills to contested probates, I will give you my full attention and represent your interests aggressively and fairly.
Prior to 2001 I worked for Sari M Freidman, P.C., Feldman Kramer and Monaco, P.C., and various other law practices. In addition I was an Administrative Law Judge for the City of New York and Instructor at the New York Paralegal School.
Member of the Town of Smithtown Board of Ethics
Judge in the High School Mock Trial Program
Listed in the Marquis Who's Who in America
Candidate for Suffolk County Legislator (2001)
I encourage clients to avail themselves of resources to become acquainted with general aspects of the law. However, clients should be careful to understand that not all information found on the internet is accurate or applicable to their particular matter. As an attorney I put my many years of experience as well as my knowledge and training to represent clients to achieve their desired outcome.
Because of malpractice and liability issues I can not give legal advice regarding matters I am not retained for.

Since I was a child I wanted to be a lawyer. I view lawyers as guardians to protect the rights of the people.
I grew up in a poor family in Brooklyn. I saw people who got caught up in the system and had no place to turn. I chose to become a lawyer because I wanted to prevent that from happening and to insure that everyone received an even shake from society. Throughout my years of practice, and my years of life, I have tried to do all I could to guide myself by high ethical standards.
I do not represent corporations. I represent people. I represent people who are trying to overcome hurdles that life throws at them. I represent people who are trying to move on in life.
I feel blessed to be able to assist people in navigating through the obstacle course of life.
I am a solo practitioner and deal directly with my clients.
While I will fight aggressively to protect your rights, I am also skilled at negotiation.
Politics and art.
