Previous Employment Summary

I was in the general practice of law from 1973 to 1977. I have specialized in bankruptcy since 1977.

Activities and Awards

I attend the annual National Convention of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. I keep updated as to all changes in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy law.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

I have frequently recommended Nolo Press bankruptcy products to clients to obtain a better idea of what we are doing. I have no problem with debtors who represent themselves in bankruptcy.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I am willing to substitute in for a debtor who filed his or her own bankruptcy and is having trouble. I do not review forms for pro per debtors before filing. I need to either represent a client or not.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I do not take part in pro per cases prior to filing. I am always happy to step in if one has trouble. I have very reasonable fees and installment plans and almost anyone who needs to file bankruptcy can afford our services.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I like paper pushing and creating Chapter 13 plans. My practice is as close to legal aid as possible in this line of work.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

I was a social worker for the State of Massachusetts.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

It is very fulfilling to help people in trouble with wage garnishment, car repossession, home foreclosure and IRS problems.

What do you like best about your career?

I like a lot of good feedback from clients.

Tell us about your law firm:

My firm consists of my son and I. We only represent people who owe money and do not represent creditors.

What are your strengths and style?

I have 33 years of successfully filing thousands of bankruptcy cases. I make my clients feel at ease.

Personal Interests:

I like bird-watching and computers. My son likes to travel and surf when he gets the chance.

Understanding Fees

Nolo's Licensing Check

Attorneys have passed a licensing check. Nolo has confirmed that every member attorney has a valid license and is in good standing with the applicable bar associations upon joining the directory.

Directory lawyers are required to notify Nolo immediately if they become the subject of any disciplinary action by any bar association.
