What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

I'm in favor of it. I support the demystification of the law.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

If they are related to facts of the case, always. If they are related to legal issues- less so.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

Unwilling.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

To help people.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

Worked my way through school, scarified to obtain my education.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

I enjoy defending people accused of crime.

What do you like best about your career?

Professional independence.

Tell us about your law firm:

I am a solo practitioner so if you hire me, you will be speaking to me.

What are your strengths and style?

I enjoy trying cases in state or federal court, however I pride myself on knowing the ins and outs of each department in the San Diego criminal courts. I really try to assess what the client is looking for and then attempt to deliver that experience (i.e. some clients want to fight all the way, others want the experience to end as quickly as possible).

Personal Interests:

I am active in the world of independent music- I have my own independent record label. I enjoy reading about the history of California and the history of the Middle Ages in Europe. I enjoy attending baseball and football games. I play softball, run, ski and do my best to have an active lifestyle.
