Criminal Defense
I will take any criminal case from any person. I have a great deal of experience in handling all types of drug cases, driving under the influence cases and very serious felony charges. If expert testimony is involved in your case, I am your attorney.

In addition to attending monthly MCLE classes which focus on cutting-edge criminal law topics, I attend 8 extra ethics classes each year. I also teach at least one class to other lawyers each year.
I handle all types of cases from DUI and Drug offenses to "domestic violence." In the past, I have trained many prosecutors on how to prosecute DUI and drug offenses. I now use this same expertise to defend and protect my clients against over-zealous prosecutions. I enjoy handling cases that allow me to assist my clients with finding treatment alternatives instead of jail. When negotiation and finesse do not succeed at obtaining favorable results for you, I will devote substantial time and effort defending your rights in a trial.

At David Lehr Law, I provide the highest level of service to a select group of clients. I focus exclusively on assisting clients who are facing criminal charges. I know that any conviction can be a life changing event. That is why my motto is "Advice you can trust when the stakes are high." I have extensive experience in DUI cases, drug possession and sales cases, and all manner of serious felonies. I will do everything in my power to get you through this difficult time in your life.
After nearly 14 years in the Ventura County District Attorney's Office, I decided to devote my extensive trial experience and negotiations skills to defend those accused of crimes in Ventura County. In February 2007 I opened my doors to help you through this difficult time in your life. I will not judge you, no matter what charges you are facing.
I spent nearly 14 years in the Ventura County District Attorney's Office, ending my career as a Senior Deputy District Attorney. I have trial experience in a broad range of cases including: DUI, theft, fraud, robbery, rape, sexual assault, assault with a deadly weapon, mayhem, arson, domestic violence, third strike, and drug possession, sales, and under the influence. As an award-winning prosecutor, I won the "unwinnable" cases. Now as a criminal defense attorney, I apply my extensive experience to helping you win your case.

I welcome the opportunity to help people to learn about their own legal situation. I frequently advise individuals to represent themselves in simple matters. The more complex and/or serious a matter is, the more I recommend against self-representation.
I am willing to review any document that relates to a criminal case.
I do this on a weekly basis for some misdemeanor offenses.
Since I was in the fifth grade, I always wanted to be an attorney. My family would tell you that I am very logical and I do not like to lose. They would also say that I argue all the time. I also have a passion for helping others. When you combine these traits, pursuing a career in the law is a perfect fit.
I have had to fight hard to get to where I am in life. I do not take no for an answer, and I am a workaholic. I also like to think about my cases logically and then creatively. Some of my best outcomes in cases have come when I thought up a creative solution to a difficult problem. These factors make me a better lawyer because I will not give up until I have obtained excellent results for my clients.
I love to be in court. Criminal lawyers are in court every day. In civil law, the issue is about money. In criminal law, I get the chance to save someone's life almost every single day. The stakes are higher, but the satisfaction that I receive from helping someone out in a criminal case is much greater.
Helping people and winning in court.
I personally handle each case. My secretary, Deana, is one of the nicest people that I have ever met. She takes care of my clients in a kind yet professional manner. I also have a great group of experts and investigators who help me serve my client's needs.
I am great "people person." I work hard and I am good at what I do. I am always willing to go the extra mile for my clients.
My wife and five great kids.
