What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

We encourage clients to self-educate and believe there is a direct corollary between how much a client knows and how much less the process will cost him or her.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Absolutely.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

No.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

A father who wished he had been one.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

Everything I do helps me in my law practice: I have been working with the public since I was ten years old, I have been involved in various organizations for my entire life, and I served in the military. Each interaction with an individual has helped me to be a better lawyer.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

The personal nature of the work.

What do you like best about your career?

The competition and challenge of the courtroom.

Tell us about your law firm:

We are a small, family law trial boutique. Even though we concentrate on difficult and contentious cases, we are also strong proponents of resolution by mediation and collaborative law. We have two partners and two associates.

What are your strengths and style?

Our strength is that we are very hard workers, direct, and hands-on with our clients. There is no spoon feeding here. We are completely honest with our clients, and help them through a stressful time in their lives.

Personal Interests:

I am a later-in-life father with two teenage daughters and two dogs; I try and spend as much time with them as possible. I am also very active in my church and enjoy traveling with my family.
