What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

The more informed, the better the client.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Yes, we actually request our clients to prepare a timeline with supporting documents as part of our intake process.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

It depends on the case and the client.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I decided to practice law because I wanted to be more effective in addressing social issues and social justice.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

I worked in social work before practicing law. This background led me into representing workers who are treated unfairly.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

Employment law changes daily and is, therefore, interesting and "cutting-edge."

What do you like best about your career?

I really enjoy making changes in toxic work environments that harm employees. In the vast majority of our cases, I think we have made workplaces more humane and responsive to workers needs.

Tell us about your law firm:

Our law firm is comprised of two partners, Gary Moss and Mary Patricia Hough, and several support staff. Between the partners, we have over 55 years experience in civil litigation with an emphasis on labor and employment, medical malpractice and significant tort cases. We are AV rated by Martindale Hubble and enjoy a positive reputation among our peers, the bench, and clients throughout the state.

What are your strengths and style?

Direct and effective communication with a good dose of compassion.

Personal Interests:

My personal interests include caring for my two teenage sons, cooking and travel.
