Previous Employment Summary

I served as a Deputy District Attorney in Family Support for San Mateo County for 8 years prior to entering private practice. My legal career has always been in the area of family law.

Activities and Awards

I am on the Family Law Alternative Dispute Resolution Panel for the San Mateo County Superior Court, which gives me the opportunity to help parties doing their own divorce to resolve issues without a court trial.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

The more clients know about the law and the process, the better able they are able to make the decisions that are best for them and their family. As part of my representation, I try to educate the client on the issues and the law so that the best decisions are made in determining the case outcome.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Yes.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I am willing to talk with clients about their case and help them find the resources that are available to help them to meet their needs.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I wanted to help people resolve problems.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

My training in family and child development gives me a strong background in the dynamics of family law.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

My undergraduate and graduate education, prior to law school, was heavily involved with the family and children. My selection of family law was a logical extension of my schooling and interests.

What do you like best about your career?

I like working with clients to creatively resolve problems.

Tell us about your law firm:

I share my practice with my brother, Fred Morck, who also is a lawyer. He is skilled in negotiation and is creative in problem resolution. He understands the needs of family law clients.

What are your strengths and style?

My ability to help reach mutually agreeable settlements in cases that are fair and reasonable.

I try to facilitate decision making by helping the parties to creatively resolve issues in a manner that benefits both sides. I strive for a "win-win" solution to resolve problems.
