Firm Focus and History

We practice only Social Security Law. The firm was formed in 1997.

Previous Employment Summary

Prior to being a named partner in the law firm of Krause Earwood and Ward, P.C. in 1997, I was an associate in the law firm Krause Hollansworth & Reeves from 1992-1996.

Activities and Awards

I worked for the Social Security Administration as a Claims Representative during the period of 1985-1989.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Informed clients make the best clients.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I am very willing to review documents if relevant to the issue at hand.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

I am willing to answer questions regarding both the risks and benefits of self representation.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I wanted to help individuals who are unable to help themselves.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

Prior to attending law school, I worked for the Social Security Administration for almost four years. That experience taught me to "speak their language" as well as to understand the operating procedures of the Administration. That work experience plus over 14 years of client representation allows me to have a firm grasp on what is required to be approved for disability benefits by the Social Security Administration.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

Previous experience as a Social Security Administration employee.

What do you like best about your career?

I enjoy the opportunity to "ride the white horse" and help people who have lost hope by getting them the benefits for which they have worked.

Tell us about your law firm:

We have three attorneys, two in Dallas and one in Houston. Each has a legal assistant. We also have an office manager/bookkeeper.

What are your strengths and style?

I am a kind and caring person, genuinely interested in helping individuals.

I am very detail oriented and insist on being prepared well in advance. Once prepared, I am confident in my ability to present a case to the Administration.

Personal Interests:

I enjoy running, snow skiing and hiking.
