I have experience handling a variety of cases from major felonies in Federal Court to misdemeanors in municipal court. What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Clients should be educated but must keep in mind that it costs ten times as much to fix a legal situation as it does to do it right the first time and sometimes things can't be fixed if they get to messed up. So, be careful when you handle your own legal matters.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Yes.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

No.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

To help people.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

I started out years ago as a car salesman, where I learned the art of persuasion. Next, I studied persuasion in college, and now I apply what I learned to my I work, protecting the rights of the accused.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

I like pressure and high stakes. There are no higher stakes than a person's personal freedom, even if it is for only one day.

What do you like best about your career?

I like helping people.

Tell us about your law firm:

We have a Polish speaking legal assistant and a Spanish speaking legal assistant. We are a diverse group of people and have divorce attorneys, a certified specialist in personal injury/wrongful death and criminal defense attorneys. William Sargeant is a retired Superior Court Judge and works in our criminal law division.

What are your strengths and style?

I am a talker and a deal maker. I love trial and that is where I shine.

I like to use humor in my presentations if possible.

Personal Interests:

I ski, scuba dive, play golf, and sail.
