Business Law
Generally, I prefer to work with clients who have problems that can be solved with my help, situations where conflict might be minimized, clients who need help to maintain and preserve their assets, or those who need creative ideas and solutions to increase their opportunities.
Specifically, I prefer to work with people who appreciate what I try to do for them, who are honest with me, and who pay for the work performed.

Finding solutions, resolving conflict, preserving assets, and creating opportunity!
I have practiced administrative, tax, business, commercial, estate planning/probate, bankruptcy, and employment law for over twenty years. I also work with families on elder law issues and planning. Before returning to private practice full time, I was with the state and local tax division of a Big Five accounting firm, having previously served for several years as counsel - legislation and policy for the Washington State Department of Revenue.
I teach a graduate accounting class on business organizations and tax planning for Central Washington University, and taught a class on law for City University.
Everyone should take appropriate steps to educate himself/herself about the law so that each can minimize problems and maximize opportunities.
Yes, I am willing to review documents prepared by clients.
I am willing to do this on a limited basis.
I enjoy the variety and intellectual challenge.
I have over 25 years of legal practice experience in the areas including small and large business, taxation, employment, bankruptcy and elder law matters such as Medicaid, estate planning, and disability issues). I have also worked significantly in education matters and domestic relations involving non-married couples.
I hold a bachelor's degree in three majors (political science, German, and dramatic art), two master's degrees in education, a law degree and a graduate law degree in taxation.
I have taught graduate classes in taxation at the university level and numerous other courses in other college settings.
I have fallen into my general categories of work based upon my experience over 25 years and a sort of natural sorting process. The work I do is the work I generally most enjoy.
I enjoy finding successful solutions to problems and issues facing my clients, a sense that I have facilitated in some way a better life or situation for another person.
I am sole practitioner.
My unique strengths include the ability to actually "listen" to my clients and others, so that I can actually "hear and understand" what the problem is and the facts are. I try to talk little and listen much.
Finding solutions, resolving conflict, preserving assets, and creating opportunity.
My personal interests include reading good fiction, biographies, and history. I also have a great interest in old and collector automobiles, and I belong to several car clubs and actively taking part in car-related events and activities. I also am interested in politics and human rights issues and am somewhat involved with the political process.
