What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

I think clients should educate themselves as much as they can. However, this is a highly specialized area, and it's not in a person's best interest to try and represent themselves.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I wanted to help people.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

I have had a varied work experience at numerous jobs including auto mechanics, landscaping, retail, sales; jobs involving real world situations not associated with academia or the law.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

I like the idea of representing families and individuals who've been harmed and are seeking redress and compensation. I like representing David versus Goliath. I like representing the little guy. I like assisting people that need help.

What do you like best about your career?

It's satisfying to be able to help people. It's satisfying to be successful. It's an interesting profession, because I get to meet and work with so many families and individuals.
