I have worked with men and women from the preparation and negotiation of pre-marital agreements through post dissolution modifications of judgments thirty years after the original judgment was entered, as well as every stage in between. This gives me a "big picture" perspective that is often missing in family law litigation. I believe that proper legal education at all stages of the process can prevent or minimize problems which may occur years later so I try to make sure that all of my clients understand every aspect of their case.

The firm began in 1994. Initially I had an office in San Mateo and San Francisco, so I am very familiar with San Mateo County as well as San Francisco.
I have been working in solo practice since 1994.

The clients' understanding of the legal and factual issues involved is essential. I often send clients (and even prospective clients) home with copies of cases, articles, or even books to help them make important decisions about their case.
I am willing to review and discuss documents prepared by clients, but often it is more cost effective to have me prepare a document from the beginning, since I have already researched and perfected many of the commonly used types of agreements.
Yes, I am willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves.
I felt the profession needed someone who could provide a compassionate, humorous perspective on a difficult issue.
I had a history of counseling children and teenagers in situations of family conflict while I was in college which has proved invaluable in working with people in conflict ridden situations.
I enjoy the intellectual challenges mixed with the personal interaction that you find only in family law.
It makes my day when I hear back from old client's that I have made a difference in their life and made a difficult time easier.
I work in a suite with approximately ten other attorneys, most of which do family law.
I try to make the process as easy as possible for a client in all ways, financially, legally and emotionally. I am able to see through the details and documents involved in a case to reach the truly important issues.
I have a very casual, friendly, style of practice.
My personal interests include good wine, good food, family and friends.

Prenuptial and Partnership Agreements: Fees vary depending on the complexity of the agreement and the size of the estate. Prices begin at a flat fee of $4,000 to write an agreement and $3,000 to review one. Fees for agreements are paid one half before the agreement is prepared and one half upon signing. The first half is non refundable, but the second half is not due unless the agreement is signed so that any risk is equally split between attorney and client.
$380.
I charge a flat fee for initial consultations of $100.
My retainer is a $5,000 and refundable, but it can be adjusted upward or downward depending on the size of the case.
Attorneys have passed a licensing check. Nolo has confirmed that every member attorney has a valid license and is in good standing with the applicable bar associations upon joining the directory.
Directory lawyers are required to notify Nolo immediately if they become the subject of any disciplinary action by any bar association.
