At the Law Offices of Peter R. Hubert, in San Jose, California, I engage in a diversified law practice dedicated to providing individuals and families throughout the Silicon Valley and San Francisco Bay areas with high quality legal representation and outstanding personal service.
I believe in taking care of the people who seek my help and in respecting each person as an individual, not just a case, and I have been doing so for over 30 years.
I have been in private practice my entire career.
From the late 1970's to the mid 1990's, I was on the Board of the Volunteers in Parole, Santa Clara County branch, (an organization that works with and mentors parolees from the California Youth Authority). Besides working one-on-one with his parolee(s), I also taught as a street law teacher at the California Youth Authority Correctional Institution in Ben Lomond, California for several years.
I have worked on several pro bono projects with the Santa Clara County Bar Association for many years. I was the President of the local B'nai B'rith lodge for three years and currently serve as a board member.
I think that client education is a good idea. Often, an educated client is able to ask more intelligent questions.
Yes, depending on the circumstances.
No.
I thought I could help people in a meaningful way.
I worked in retail when I was younger, which taught me how to work with people and really understand the basics of customer service. As an attorney, I think one needs to have compassion and understanding for people when they have problems; you have to let clients open up and get out some issues that are very critical to them.
My practice just kind of evolved--it seemed to be something I was good at and I had a lot of client referrals within the realms of family and criminal law.
I like helping people to either continue on with their life or restart it and to go forward.
I'm a sole practitioner, so I deal directly with my clients.
I am always willing to listen to my client.
I am truthful to clients, which means that I often have to tell a client something they need to hear but do not want to hear, but I am also the bearer of good tidings.
My personal interests are my family, two dogs, and the outdoors.
