What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

I believe that individuals should become educated about the legal process so they can make informed decisions. When individuals understand the legal process and procedures, they can determine the best course of action under the circumstances, whether legal, emotional, or financial.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

This is one of the services we provide and encourage in appropriate situations.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

This is one of the services we provide and encourage in appropriate situations.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I was fascinated by the interpretation and application of the law.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

I have many years of experience with people whose lives are in turmoil and the exposure has enabled me to understand and appreciate the stress that the people in a family crisis are undergoing. This understanding has helped me to better assist clients in a crisis situation.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

When I was in law school, I volunteered at legal clinics. Most of the people going to the clinics had family law-related issues. Through my volunteer work, I saw the need for understanding and informative counsel to guide people through the legal system and help them achieve the outcome they desire through education. Also, I was touched by the dedication of parents trying to do what was best for their children in difficult situations.

What do you like best about your career?

I like having the opportunity to see motivated people take action and improve their lives, even in adverse circumstances. It is rewarding to see the personal progress many people make through the legal process. It is especially rewarding when they attribute some of their personal progress to my guidance and counsel.

Tell us about your law firm:

I like to work with people who are sensitive to the turmoil our clients are experiencing and who can bring something positive to the legal experience of our clients.

What are your strengths and style?

I have the ability to assist clients in deciding what they want to accomplish through their cases and help them ascertain the most effective way to accomplish it. Many factors are incorporated in this decision, such as the emotional and financial condition of the client and the needs of their children.

I work closely with my clients and educate them so that they understand the legal process. We work together in determining strategy in their case which includes what tone the pleadings will take.

Personal Interests:

My hobbies include health and fitness, hiking, reading, cooking, music, and movies. I enjoy spending time with my husband the most!
