Firm Focus and History

I represent families and individuals who have been seriously injured or lost the life of someone they love as the result of another's negligent or indifferent actions. I have been doing this, and doing it successfully, for nearly three decades.

Although my law offices are located in the community of Mountain View, California, I routinely represent clients in Silicon Valley and throughout San Francisco Bay Area, using my experience and ability to protect their interests.

I can do that for you, too.

Previous Employment Summary

My entire career has been spent practicing civil litigation. I was formerly a partner in an insurance defense firm for 4 years. In my current practice, I represent plaintiffs 95% of the time.

Activities and Awards

Judge Pro Tem, Santa Clara County, 1988 - 2006; Board of Directors, Community School of Music and Arts, 1998 - 2006.

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

A well-informed client will make better decisions regarding their legal rights and remedies. Knowledge of the system empowers the client and helps the attorney viciously represent the client.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Yes, I am willing to review documents prepared by clients.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

Yes, if the client is willing to commit the time and resources necessary to make their case successful.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I was attracted to the legal profession because of the opportunity to work in the trenches of the civil justice system. Over time, I have found that my calling is to represent victims who often lack the resources to fight for the full measure of justice they deserve.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

The most important and relevant experience in my field is obtained in the courtroom. I have handled thousands of injury claims and civil disputes. I have handled, all the way through trial and verdict, more than 60 cases.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

I have worked for insurance companies in the past. They don't want to pay claims and they hire very competent lawyers to see that they don't pay one dime more that they are forced to. I now represent plaintiffs because the victims of someone else's mistake or fraud deserve just as good a lawyer as the lawyers of the insurance company they will be up against.

What do you like best about your career?

Trying a tough case for an injured client and having the jury fairly compensate my client for their legitimate injury.

Tell us about your law firm:

I have a small firm that allows me to give personal service to my clients. I carefully screen my cases. If I accept your case, you will receive hands-on attention from me. I will handle every aspect of the pretrial discovery and preparation. You will not be handed off to a junior associate, as sometimes occurs with large firms.

What are your strengths and style?

I have been litigating accident and injury cases for more than two decades. I used to be hired by insurance companies but I will no longer tolerate their tactics. I know how to put a case together and I know how to win for the victim who has suffered a real and legitimate injury.

My style is calm, firm and fair.

Personal Interests:

I enjoy travel, skiing, sailing, cooking and the outdoors.
