Firm Focus and History

Our firm was established in February of 2003 as a response to other firms who fail to appropriately respond to their clients and provide them with the appropriate legal and factual advice to settle and complete their case.

At the Law Offices of Sheasby & Middleton, we believe communication with our clients is key in resolving their case as quickly as possible. We treat each client with respect and each case is handled individually based on the client's emotional and financial needs and objectives.

Although we are strong believers in settlement and compromise, we are not intimidated by litigation and consider ourselves "litigators." This means when an agreement simply cannot be reached, we are not afraid to argue your case in front of a judge in order to get a final determination when settlement is not an option. We know that moving your case towards resolution is an important part of the healing process for a family experiencing the turmoil of divorce.

We understand that family law is filled with emotionally charged issues. We understand that family law requires legal expertise and an ability to listen and respond to families in a time of crisis. So if you are contemplating filing for divorce or your spouse has filed for divorce, please call us for a confidential consultation.

Previous Employment Summary

I have been committed to the practice of family law for the entirety of my career.

Activities and Awards

Guest lecturer at California State Fullerton Extension - Family Law and Forensic Accounting; Officer and Director of the Etiwanda Excellence in Education Foundation

What is your opinion regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Only through understanding the nature and extent of California law, the unique facts of their case and its possible outcomes, can a client make an informed and intelligent decision on their own.

Are you willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Yes. Sometimes, the only efficient and effective way of understanding a client's case and transferring this to the judge is through the words of the client.

Are you willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

When appropriate to the case, a client representing themselves is at times the best method to resolution.

Why did you decide to be a lawyer?

I wanted to ensure that all people had access to the legal system and adequate representation.

What work experience and education helps you be a better lawyer?

My 7-year career has been built on family law and a commitment to understanding the intricacies of this unique and so often emotional area of the law.

Why did you decide on your primary area of practice?

Only certain people can truly provide the appropriate combination of emotional and intellectual support to the client, and my natural abilities in these important areas led me to this field for the satisfaction that it can provide.

What do you like best about your career?

I enjoy working with clients to compete cases with the least cost and most success possible. It is a great feeling when a satisfied client leaves my office at the end of a case knowing that they and their children will be taken care of by the final judgment.

Tell us about your law firm:

Ronda Middleton is an attorney and owner of the firm who has been practicing law for four years and runs our probate department. She has a great deal of passion for child custody and domestic violence issues. She understands and appreciates the legal complexity and attention to detail that is required in child custody litigation and high-asset divorce cases. Shana Massimino is an up-and-coming 2nd year attorney who joined our firm in February of 2006. Cynthia Mardis, our law clerk, keeps the office running smoothly and efficiently while helping to keep fees at a minimum when no attorney involvement is required.

What are your strengths and style?

My intensity, commitment to my clients, and intimate knowledge of Family Law allow me to provide excellent representation to our clients, ensuring that they receive the best possible outcome in their case.

I am aggressive and demanding. I work to extract the most from your case while always keeping the financial realities in mind. I settle cases when it is appropriate, but do not allow cases to linger when there appears to be no chance of resolution.

Personal Interests:

My children and family; rock climbing; mountaineering.
