Real Estate
I prefer individuals and businesses that have disputes with sellers, buyers, brokers, co-owners, and lenders concerning real estate transactions and ownership. I also represent anyone who has a dispute with an insurance company concerning claims, claims handling, or coverage.

I have completed over 25 hours of courses dealing with civil litigation, insurance law, and trial advocacy over the past three years.
I represented 66 tenants against a landlord who failed to maintain his apartment building. There was mold, as well as roof and plumbing leaks, electrical problems, and structural issues with the building. There were also a variety of complex insurance issues.

I focus on insurance law on behalf of homeowners, small businesses, and other insureds, as well as resolving real estate and business disputes.
Before starting my firm in 1999, I was an associate with Shernoff, Bidart & Darras, a firm that specialized in insurance bad-faith cases.
Throughout my career, I've been involved in insurance coverage disputes, at first on behalf of insurance companies, and for the last decade on behalf of policy holders.
In the right case, clients are better off representing themselves. In complex matters that must be filed in Superior Court, self-representation is not the best choice for most clients.
I am always willing to review documents that clients intend to present in Small Claims Court or other proceedings in which they represent themselves.
One of the most important things that attorneys can do for clients is to teach them what they need to know to be effective advocates on their behalf.
I decided to be a lawyer because it was a good fit for my personality, skills, and interests.
After law school, I spent two years clerking for a judge, so I have a good sense of how the courts work and what it takes to persuade a judge of my clients' positions.
After representing insurance companies, I realized that homeowners and other policy holders were in need of effective advocacy.
It is tremendously satisfying to help people resolve disputes and get insurance companies to do what they are legally obligated to do.
I have a C.P.A. on staff who handles financial and tax issues.
I have an in-depth understanding of insurance law, I am a skilled negotiator, and I am an excellent writer.
I pay a lot of attention to detail while keeping the overall objectives of my client in mind. I also work hard to get cases into a position where they can be settled. But when I cannot settle the case, I work even harder to win at trial.
I enjoy hiking, music, fitness, and travel.
