I decided to focus on Social Security Disability claims after practicing in many other areas of law for 24 years. I saw that it offered an opportunity to combine my undergraduate background in science with my personal desire to use my law degree to help people instead of simply engage in a legal contest. I have found it to be an intensely challenging and personally satisfying area of practice.
You deserve an experienced attorney with skilled and dedicated staff who will work on your behalf to develop your case, represent you at the administrative proceedings, and appeal when necessary.
I approach every case with two goals: listen to what my client is telling me about why they cannot work and find a way to demonstrate this disability to the administrative law judge. I do not take short cuts. I do not simply count on winning a certain percentage of the cases I accept without regard to the ones that could have been successful with more professional attention.
I invest in my staff by conducting regular training and using state of the art technology. I dedicate a great deal of energy and time to staying on top of the frequent changes in the rules and regulations. I attend national conferences and network with colleagues in the field.
This is more than a job to me, it is a profession, it is my vocation. I know it is important to my clients that I take my work very seriously. The greatest rewards are the thank you cards and thank you calls from clients when they have finally received Social Security disability benefits and Medicaid or Medicare.
I cannot take away the pain or the impairments, but I can help take some of the burden away by helping you navigate a complex and challenging process without making mistakes early in the process that will jeopardize your claim at the end.
I have the privilege of working with dedicated, talented, and caring staff that have been with me for years. They gather information about your work and medical history, assist with filing the claims and appeals, communicate with the adjudicators and field offices, and gather the medical and other information that is critical to presenting a persuasive case to the administrative law judge.
In the past few years, I have seen the number of favorable decisions without waiting for a hearing grow steadily as a result of implementing and refining best practices from the initial application forward.
Your Social Security Disability Insurance benefits may very well be the single most valuable asset you have invested in since you entered the world of work. You owe it to yourself and your dependents to entrust such an important matter to an attorney who will go to work for you when you can no longer support yourself and your family.
The more my client knows about his or her medical problems and what the administrative process involves, the better I can serve his or her needs and the more the client will respect the complexity of the hearing and appeal process.
I will review information and when appropriate make it a part of the record with revisions if necessary.
I will try to help my client understand when he or she misunderstands the process or the issues at hand by giving examples, showing what steps are ahead, and directing to online resources.
