The law office of Eric N. Ortiz Esq. is headed by Eric N. Ortiz. He is a lifetime resident of New Mexico and is proud to serve his fellow New Mexicans in the areas of complex commercial litigation, bankruptcy litigation, general civil litigation (including personal injury) and family law. Eric holds a B.A. from the University of New Mexico and a J.D. from UNM School of Law (which institution conferred on Eric the Fred Hart Award for Excellence in Commercial Law). He is an active member of the New Mexico State Bar, the US Federal Bar and the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association.
Eric worked for several law firms before starting his own firm in 2012. Before attending law school, Eric worked as a law clerk for Rusch D. Gathings, a successful criminal and personal injury attorney. Through law school, Eric obtained significant experience in the arenas of commercial litigation, probate law and bankruptcy as a clerk for Jennie Behles. When he was admitted to the bar, Eric became an associate at the Behles law firm. He then went on to become a junior partner and managing attorney at Affordable Law P.C. There he honed his skills in complex commercial litigation and bankruptcy, while developing an interest in personal injury and family law.
In the Ortiz Law Firm, Eric is able to continue to pursue his interest in diverse aspects of the law and use his considerable expertise and energy to help his clients settle their claims quickly and successfully.
