Our head attorney, Peter W. Antonowicz, Esq., went into the legal profession to help disadvantaged and disabled people who could not afford an attorney and represented his first Social Security Disability applicant in 1982. He spent his formative years as a Legal Aid Society attorney, after which he worked as a civil rights attorney protecting the rights of psychiatric patients and developmentally disabled residents in central and western New York state. He has been active in disability rights organizations throughout his career, including parental advocacy groups for the rights of disabled children. In 1992, attorney Peter W. Antonowicz opened his own law firm in Rome, New York, to devote all of his professional time to helping the disabled.
You may have also noticed that we don't advertise "success rates," which are misleading. Why? They are more indicative of the cases not taken. We don't just take the easy cases; we have worked and will continue to work on cases that take years if we believe someone truly needs benefits.

Peter W. Antonowicz

Our head attorney, Peter W. Mary Pat Walsh

Mary Pat joined our office in 2011 with extensive legal experience. She began her legal career at The Legal Aid Society of Mid-New York, believing that competent legal representation should not be available only to those able to pay for it; rather that all people deserve quality representation in legal proceedings. Her experience has included representation of the financially disadvantaged as well as children in family court proceedings; operated a private practice which focused on family legal issues and worked as legal advisor to a Judge for several years. Through those experiences, Mary Pat has advocated for people with a wide array of disabilities. Mary Pat first became familiar with Social Security law while still in law school and working part-time for an attorney whose practice was dedicated to Social Security Law. During the time Mary Pat operated a private practice, she and Peter shared an office, resulting in the frequent exchange of information and ideas about various cases. It was through this process that Mary Pat became more versed in Social Security Law as an attorney. Her compassion and legal abilities set her apart from other attorneys and compliments the teamwork approach of The Antonowicz Group. Mary Pat, her husband Joe and son Garrett live in Syracuse and enjoy a wide variety of outdoor and sporting activities, including hockey, camping, gardening, hiking and canoeing.

Kara M. Eaton, Claimant Representative

Kara has been actively involved in the successful representation of disability applicants since 2006. A member of the National Association of Disability Representatives. Kara attends many conferences and continuing legal education seminars in order to remain as current as possible on the legal issues effecting our disabled clients. Although early in her career, she has already won extremely complicated and difficult disability cases involving traumatic brain injuries, developmental disabilities, and rare genetic diseases. She has also been actively involved in promoting local health care facilities and other organizations that promote the rights disabled individuals. She is a graduate of Mohawk Valley Community College. She has successfully passed all tests and administrative requirements set up by the federal government to be a claimant representative before the Social Security Administration.

Kelly L. Eichorn, ADR

Kelly has been actively involved in the successful representation of disability applicants since 2003. She has secured benefits for hundreds of disability applicants, and has also provided representation at all administrative appeals levels. A member of the National Association of Disability Representatives. Kelly attends many conferences and continuing legal education seminars in order to remain as current as possible on the legal issues effecting our disabled clients. She has successfully passed all tests and administrative requirements set up by the federal government to be a claimant representative before the Social Security Administration, earning the title "Accredited Disability Representative". She has also been actively involved in issues regarding veteran's rights, the American Heart Association, and other charitable organizations promoting the concerns and needs of disabled and disadvantaged individuals.
