Sierra R. Koch focuses her practice on family law. She has completed the Institute of Continued Legal Educationâs family law certification program, and is trained mediator. Sierra prides herself in a âno nonsenseâ approach to family law; she strongly believes in giving clients a realistic view of their case and expectations.
Sierra grew up in Dexter, Michigan, and spent summers with her grandparents in Luzerne, Michigan. She attended Florida State University where she received a Bachelorâs in Criminal Justice. Sierra is a graduate of Wayne State Law School. During law school, she worked for the Free Legal Aid Clinic handling family law cases for indigent clients. After law school she worked at Bloomquist and Associates in Grayling, Michigan. She subsequently worked with highly regarded Michigan family law attorney Carlo J. Martina for four years.
Sierra handles all type of cases including complex and high-conflict divorce cases, legal separation, custody, child support, parenting time, paternity, spousal support/alimony, contempt, high asset division, pension division, post judgment issues, modification of parenting time and/or child support, spousal abuse, change of domicile, step-parent adoption and abuse/neglect cases. Sierra also serves as a mediator and parenting time coordinator.
In addition to family law cases, Sierra also practices in the area of criminal law.
Sierra is a member of the State Bar of Michigan Family Law Section, Vice President of the 46th Circuit Bar Association, and a board member of the Crawford County Chamber of Commerce.
