He graduated with his Master's Degree from Texas A&M University, then moving on to work for Schering, which is one of the world's premier pharmaceutical companies. After seven years in the marketing department, he decided to attend Texas Tech University School of Law, graduating Cum Laude in 1997. The same year, he was admitted to the State Bar of Texas and the Eastern, Western, Northern and Southern U.S. district Courts of Texas. During his time in law school, he participated in the school's National Trial Advocacy Team. While serving on this team, he was awarded with the "Excellence for the Future" distinguishment. He is a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice and many other legal organizations.

John D. Sloan Jr.
John Sloan is a partner with Sloan, Bagley, Hatcher & Perry Law Firm. He was born and raised in East Texas and is now a happily married man with two children. He attended Baylor School of Law and graduated in 1980. He was then admitted to practice by the State Bar of Texas. He is also able to practice law, and has handled cases, in Georgia, Louisiana, Michigan, Maryland and beyond. Mr. Sloan is a certified Civil Trial Advocate with the National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA). Few attorneys have accomplished this certification, and few have been Board Certified as Personal Injury Trial Lawyers by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, which Mr. Sloan has also accomplished. He is admitted to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals (5th Circuit) and all four district courts of Texas.
