Sansone Law can only imagine how scary it must be to obtain legal representation without any idea what it will cost you. Whenever possible, our law firm uses a fully inclusive flat fee pricing model. We have taken out all the surprises and guess work. Billable hours, filing fees, copying costs, travel expenses, mileage... it is ALL included in our up front fee, letting you know what to expect without fear of out of control legal bills. In addition, all first-time clients receive a free consultation.
On rare occasions, the flat fee pricing model does not fit. Although Sansone Law cannot guarantee you a fixed bill in those situations, you can be assured that we do everything possible to keep your total costs reasonable.
The most common occasion where flat fee pricing is inappropriate are personal injury cases, for which our fees are contingent. On any case involving contingency fees, Sansone Law does not charge any fees or expenses unless you recover.

In November 2011, the Oklahoma legislature enacted a bill called Aaron's Law. This bill was in response to the death of Aaron Zentz, a 17-year old from Yukon who was killed in Oklahoma City when his car was struck by a woman running a stop light. This bill, in a nutshell, increased the penalties for certain acts committed while operating a motor vehicle. Most importantly, Aaron's Law imposed an automatic revocation of your driver's license upon conviction of certain crimes. If you fall into any of those categories, you need to immediately seek representation to protect your rights.
The list of ways Oklahoma DPS can revoke your license is quite long and can become very complicated depending upon the charges against you. It's important to remember that if you are charged with any of these crimes and enter a plea of guilty, or nolo contendre, your license will automatically be revoked, even if you are not sentenced to jail. In some instances, an attorney can assist you in obtaining a modified license. However, the time requirements for appealing a license suspension or applying for a modified license are very strict.

There are two different types of expungements available in Oklahoma: (1) a general expungement, and (2) a deferred sentence expungement.
18 General Expungement
In Oklahoma, you can get an expungement if you fall into any of several categories. Call us to learn if you fit into any of the 12 categories.
991c Deferred Sentence Expungement
If you are not eligible, at this time, for a general expungement, there is an alternative route you can take. So long as the sentence you received was a "deferred sentence, "you may get a deferred sentence expungement. A deferred sentence simply means that you were placed on probation. However, if you are granted a deferred sentence expungement, your criminal record would not be completely erased. Your case records would be sealed with the Courts and your case file would be sealed. However, your criminal record with the arresting agency and OSBI would still show what crime you were charged with. Keep in mind that a deferred sentence expungement may be obtained while you are waiting to become eligible for a general expungement.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?
We love it when a client takes steps to educate themselves on a matter.
An attorney is only effective as the information or evidence provided by a client. The more informed a client is regarding their legal issue, the more likely they are to share the correct information with their attorney. Although it is always the job of the lawyer to ask the right questions, it is always helpful when the client is prepared and knowledgeable of their situation.
Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?
Although we are more than willing to review client prepared documents, our experience tells us that clients will receive better value for their money and experience greater results by retaining a lawyer to prepare their documents. Attorneys have made their career focusing on unique areas of the law and it is rare that the client can bring the same level of knowledge and experience to their case. We strongly encourage people to hire an attorney and not attempt to represent themselves in legal proceedings.
Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?
Similar to our philosophy regarding client document review, we dissuade clients from pro se representation. Under unique situations, we have and will consider this service to a client. However, in the majority of cases a client is better served by retainer trusted, experienced legal counsel.
Jason Sansone
Prior to Sansone Law, Mr. Sansone served as General Counsel and Corporate Compliance Officer for National Credit Solutions. In addition, Jason has previously worked with the National Basketball Association, Minor League Baseball, and Six Flags Over Texas. Jason is admitted to practice in all Oklahoma state, federal, and bankruptcy courts, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, Oklahoma County Bar Association, and Robert J. Turner American Inn of Court. Outside of his law practice, Jason is co-owner of Book Our DJ's, a local Oklahoma City event disc jockey production company.
Jason holds a Bachelor in Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma, Master of Business Administration with High Honors from Oklahoma City University, and Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. While in law school, he served as Vice President of the Student Bar Association (SBA), was a two-term member of the SMU Student Senate, team winner and best oral advocate during the Jackson-Walker Moot Court Competition, and Dean's Scholarship Recipient. In addition, Mr. Sansone interned with the Dallas County District Attorney's Office Family Violence Division and with the 44th State Civil District Court.
Jason's passions include: riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, boating, photography, and playing with his two dogs - AJ and EB.
