Zachary Levine

Zack Levine is admitted to practice law in all California state courts, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. He has a strong legal background in licensing agreements, intellectual property, domain disputes, e-commerce, and gaming. Mr. Levine is the author of the "Litigation" and "Cloud Law" columns for the monthly newsletters E-Commerce Law Report and Cyberspace Lawyer and is a contributing author to Scott on Multimedia Law, Scott on Information Technology Law, the IT Law Wiki, FindLaw, and Superhero Law, as well as the former author of the "FAQ" column in the E-Commerce Law Report.

Mr. Levine attended Southwestern Law School as well as the University of California San Diego. Through the Moot Court Honors program at Southwestern he participated in the John Marshall Information Technology and Privacy competition where he was the 2nd Place Oralist.

Sarah Wolk

Sarah R. Wolk is admitted to practice law in all California state courts, the United States District Court for the Northern and Central Districts of California, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. She has a strong legal background in litigation, business contracts, intellectual property, employment issues, assisting with insurance claims, and commercial lease agreements. Michael Scott

Of Counsel

With over 37 years of legal experience representing high-technology clients and an extensive background in computer technology, Michael Scott is considered a "pioneer" in the field of information technology (IT) law and public policy. During his lengthy career he has represented many of the top companies in the computer, software, Internet and wireless industries.

Mr. Scott graduated with a B.S. in Mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a J.D. from UCLA, where he served as a member of the board of directors of the UCLA-Alaska Law Review.

He is a member of the State Bar of California and the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. He is admitted to practice before numerous United States District Courts in California, as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Mr. Scott's areas of practice include intellectual property law; domestic and international licensing; and litigation for all types of businesses, from tech start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. He is the author of six books on intellectual property, computer, multimedia, internet, and telecommunications law, and has published and presented hundreds of papers on related topics at conferences and symposia around the world.

After many years as a member of Southwestern Law School's adjunct faculty, he joined the full-time faculty in 2003. Professor Scott is currently editor-in-chief of The Cyberspace Lawyer and E-Commerce Law Report. He also serves on the advisory boards for British and American publications on law and and technology, and is co-chair of the California State Bar's Intellectual Property Section, Computer/Internet Roundtable.

Emmanuel Vargas

Of Counsel

Emmanuel S. Vargas is a private practice consumer bankruptcy attorney and Of Counsel to Wolk Levine & Trotter, LLP. Mr. Vargas represents families, individuals, and small businesses in chapter 7 and chapter 13 bankruptcy proceedings.

Mr. Vargas has represented hundreds of debtors before the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California. Mr. Vargas has discharged millions of dollars in debt for his clients and has helped clients successfully eliminate both judicial and junior liens on real property. Mr. Vargas has litigated non-dischargeability actions and appeared at hundreds of meetings and hearings before the U.S. Trustees and Judges of the Central District.

Mr. Vargas is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara with bachelor's degrees in Philosophy and Political Science. Mr. Vargas graduated from Southwestern Law School in May of 2008 and was admitted to practice law in the State of California and the Central District of California in December of 2008.

Shahrooz Isaac Zaghi

Shahrooz Isaac Zaghi specializes in patent law and has been representing start-ups, Fortune 500 companies, and universities since 2004.

Mr. Zaghi relies on an extensive technical background and diverse legal training to deliver focused, quality legal services. He earned a Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Columbia University and a Bachelor's in Chemistry from the University of California, Irvine. Additionally, he has served as an assistant scientist at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and a research assistant at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

Mr. Zaghi previously worked as a patent agent at Foley and Lardner, LLP and served as in-house patent agent at Aspen Aerogels, Inc. His experience also includes drafting and negotiating information technology agreements for Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc.

Michael Le

Michael Le represents businesses and individuals in complex commercial, employment, and business disputes. He began his legal career with the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office, where he served as the sole prosecutor in eight jury trials. After graduating from law school, Mr. Le was awarded a fellowship through the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). Additionally, he was a Branch Manager for Wells Fargo Bank prior to attending law school.

Mr. Le graduated from the University of California Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Asian American Studies. He received his Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School and was a member of the International Law Journal, Moot Court Honors Program, and Trial Advocacy Program. In addition, he received the Best Oralist Award at the National Telecommunications Moot Court Competition in Washington, D.C. While in law school, Mr. Le clerked for Judge Norman P. Tarle at the Los Angeles Superior Court.

James Howard

James Howard is admitted to practice law in all California courts. His work focuses on employment law and litigation. Mr. Howard is conversationally fluent in Mandarin Chinese and spent several years working in Beijing before attending law school.

Mr. Howard received his law degree from the University of Wisconsin and spent one year visiting at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law. Garoon Gharakhanian

Garoon Gharakhanian is admitted to practice law in all California state courts. Ms. Gharakhanian has a legal background in business contracts, intellectual property, and litigation.

Ms. Gharakhanian received her Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School. While in law school, Ms. Gharakhanian externed at the Glendale City Attorney's office where she worked on various projects including revising the Glendale Municipal Code pertaining to mobile food vendors. Ms. Gharakhanian also participated in the Southwestern London Summer Information Technology Program where she practiced negotiating in the IT sector and learned about international issues relating to e-commerce laws and regulations. Additionally, Ms. Gharakhanian participated in the Immigration Law Clinic at Southwestern where she assisted in representing low-income children and adults in Special Immigration Juvenile Status (SIJS) and U visa cases. During this time, Ms. Gharakhanian also volunteered for the Glendale Neighborhood Legal Services Worker's Rights Clinic and the Administrative Legal Advocacy Group.

Prior to attending law school, Ms. Gharakhanian completed a Masters of Communication Management degree from the University of Southern California, during which she explored online community management and social media. Ms. Gharakhanian worked as a social media marketing manager for a number of years and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of California, Los Angeles.
