Criminal Defense
Being confronted with a criminal charge is a frightening situation. Our firm has years of experience and can help you to achieve the best possible outcome from this unfortunate circumstance.
In Ohio, criminal charges typically carry the following potential penalties:

F1 - 3-11 years prison, $20,000 fine
F2 - 2-8 years prison, $15,000 fine
F3 - 9-36 months prison, $10,000 fine
F4 - 6-18 months prison, $5,000 fine
F5 - 6-12 months prison, $2,500 fine

M1 - 180 days in jail, $1,000 fine
M2 - 90 days in jail, $750 fine
M3 - 60 days in jail, $500 fine
M4 - 30 days in jail, $250 fine
MM - $150 fine

Additionally, there can be other consequences, such as a driver's license suspension, registration requirements, or firearm disqualification. If you are charged with a criminal offense, it is important that you retain counsel that is both experienced and willing to do everything possible to achieve a positive outcome for you. At Wolfe Van Wey & Associates, our attorneys have years of trial experience, and are prepared to zealously represent you.
OVI/DUI is one of the most common charges in Ohio, but it is still potentially damaging to a person's livelihood. The experienced attorneys at Wolfe Van Wey & Associates, LLC, know what needs to be done to resolve your case in the best way possible.
Drunk driving offenses, known as OVI in Ohio and DUI or DWI in other states, have serious penalties, including loss of driver's license, heavy fines, and potential jail time. Even for a first offense, a person charged with OVI is facing up to 6 months in jail, a 5 year driver's license suspension, and a $1075.00 fine. All of these penalties can greatly impact a person's career as well as their personal life. It is extremely important that someone charged with OVI get in contact with an experienced attorney as soon as possible. At Wolfe Van Wey & Associates, LLC, we will work to minimize the penalties and restore driving privileges as quickly as possible.
Workers Compensation
If you have been injured, contracted a disease, or suffered disability because of your job, Wolfe Van Wey & Associates can help you navigate the filing and hearing process in order to help you get the compensation to which you may be entitled.
We will assist you in every step of the process: filing your claim, communicating with the Bureau of Workers Compensation on your behalf, representing you at hearings before the Industrial Commission and in court, and assisting you in ensuring coverage of your medical expenses. Workers' Compensation can be a long and confusing process. Trust the experienced attorneys at Wolfe Van Wey & Associates, LLC, to help you navigate this process so that you can focus on your recovery.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

At Wolfe Van Wey & Associates, LLC, we strive to provide access to our clients that is uncommon with most attorneys. We make ourselves available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, to work around our clients' needs.

We know that, for most people, finding yourself in a situation where you need an attorney is uncommon and extremely stressful. That is why we make every effort possible to answer any question at any time in order to relieve as much of that stress as possible.

While we have set office hours, we will always answer our phones, check our email, or make arrangements to meet outside of those hours if that is what our clients want.

Stephen Wolfe

Attorney Wolfe is a lifelong resident of the Columbus area, having grown up in Worthington and graduating with honors from the Ohio State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Economics. He then attended Capital University Law School, where he obtained his Juris Doctorate in 2008.

He has devoted the majority of his career to criminal law. Even prior to passing the bar exam, Attorney Wolfe worked at the Columbus City Prosecutor's Office during law school. However, upon becoming an attorney, he knew that his passion was defending those charged with a crime rather than prosecuting them.

In his career as an attorney at Cooper & Pennington Co., LPA, and after co-founding Wolfe Van Wey & Associates, LLC, Attorney Wolfe has defended clients ranging from petty offenses up to aggravated murder, and has trial experience in the whole range of offenses. He completed the National Defender's Training Project, a criminal trial strategy practicum, in 2012.
