How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

Federal law in general and tax in particular, is perhaps the most underserved industry. Many defense professionals are either intimidated by the federal government or too lazy to defend their clients properly. Our clients call us Godsend and the U.S. attorney calls us Pitbulls. We simply call ourselves Win-Win Resolution Specialists.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

We believe that clients who are willing to educate themselves are the best clients.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

A resolution must be such that it's a Win-Win for all parties involved (that includes the clients as well as the government - We provide them a reason to close the case). You must know when to fight, when to plea and when to settle. We strongly believe in our legal system. We will fight for your rights as if your case were our own.

We believe in working with the highest level of integrity. On one hand, we do not condone or assist clients to deceive or mislead the government even if it means losing clients to our competitors who may advise them to do so. On the other hand, we never did and never will back down, even against overwhelming odds (like 5 federal agencies at the same time) or when the opponent plays power game (like threats of disbarment or imprisonment). We are not afraid to take the case to the top. For example, we have held several meetings with the IRS Directors (Territorial, Regional and National) to resolve cases when the local agents and managers were unreasonable. In addition, we also have asked the IRS Commissioners, TIGTA and U.S. Congressional member for help when the agents were overly abusive .

Does your firm provide pro bono legal services or otherwise participate in your community?

Yes. If you or someone you know is at risk of losing your home, your business or your life, please let us know. No need to harm yourself or others. We can guide you as to your rights and how to get the proper assistance. The law is intended to be fair and reasonable. For example, some IRS agents may be abusive but the IRS as an agency is not. From times to times, we do get upper management of the IRS, such as the IRS Commissioner, The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) or the IRS Directors to intervene if local agents and managements are overly abusive.
