Auto Accident
Whibbs & Stone auto accident attorneys have a successful track record at handling car crashes throughout Florida and Alabama.
Will we'll have self-driving cars in the next few decades? That idea is exciting and scary at the same time! In the meantime, we will continue to deal with the reality that there are a lot of car accidents. Some are more serious than others. Our auto accident attorneys have handled routine cases with relatively minor property damage, all the way up to motor vehicle accidents involving the death of drivers. We have worked with accident reconstructionist experts and engineers to help recreate accidents. We've also worked with economists to help prepare an accurate picture of lost wages and damages when injured people have been kept out of work or will require future medical care.

Our lawyers have handled numerous cases which were caused by the negligence of drivers who were distracted by cell phones, text messaging, or other hazards. We have also handled numerous cases which involved drunk drivers who have caused accidents with serious fatalities.

Whibbs & Stone lawyers understand the difficulties that can come up after a car accident. Our lawyers have experience with the types of physical injuries and damages that come up as a result of car crashes. We have worked with families who have had to deal with a loved one out of work or who needs extensive help at home because they cannot do simple things they used to be able do.

Florida law has specific guidelines which can make recovery complicated. To make sure that you recover the most you are entitled to, it is important that your lawyer have the experience and know how to maximize your recovery.

If you have been involved in a car accident and are unsure of your next step, we encourage you fill our free case review form. A Pensacola auto accident attorney at Whibbs & Stone will review your case and discuss it with you at absolutely no cost.
Workers Compensation
Our workers' compensation attorneys explain every detail so you can make informed decisions as we stick by you through the entire process.
WHAT ARE YOUR FIRST STEPS IF INJURED ON THE JOB?

It is important to be aware of the steps you should take following a work-related injury to obtain the workers' comp benefits you deserve.

-Report your injury to your employer immediately. In most cases, a workplace accident victim has 120 days to report an injury. Once the injury is reported, it becomes the employer's duty to provide medical care and to report the injury to its workers' compensation insurance company and the State.
-Seek advice from an experienced workers' compensation attorney. A good lawyer can protect your rights and make sure that you file all necessary paperwork completely and on time.
-Get medical treatment. Your health should be your top priority. Additionally, medical reports may be used as evidence to support your case later in the accident litigation process.
-File a Loss of Wages Claim. You have the right to file this claim if a doctor puts you on medical leave for more than seven consecutive days.

MAKING COMPENSATION LESS COMPLICATED

Your employer and its insurance company have 21 days to notify you whether they accept or deny your workers' comp claim. If your claim is denied, you may file a claim petition with the Division of Workers' Compensation. Your claim will be assigned to a workers' comp judge who will hold a hearing and determine whether you are eligible for benefits. You can appeal the judge's decision to the Workers' Compensation Appeal Board and, if necessary, to state court.

At any point during the process, the insurance company may make a settlement offer. We advise injured workers to seek a legal review of any settlement offer. Only a qualified workers' comp attorney can tell whether the settlement is sufficient to cover your past and future medical expenses and lost wages.
