Weitz & Luxenberg, P.C. was formed by partners Perry Weitz and Arthur Luxenberg. Founded with the goal of providing top-flight legal services to clients injured by negligent companies and people, the firm took root in New York and immediately propelled Weitz and Luxenberg to success, earning them a reputation as public champions. That reputation remains strong and is still growing today.

Firm History
One of W&L's first major legal successes involved winning a multimillion verdict on behalf of 36 men who worked for the Brooklyn Navy Yard. It had been an important shipbuilding facility since before World War II, but was filled with dangerous asbestos-laden products. Hundreds of workers were exposed, and years later many came to W&L for representation.
In a landmark trial, W&L won a $75 million verdict for the men of the Brooklyn Navy Yard, sending a historic message to the asbestos industry and ensuring that their clients could move forward free of financial worries.
Growing Every Day
W&L has continued to build on this tradition of success, growing as a firm both in size and resources. W&L today has more than 85 lawyers working in world-class facilities located in New York, Los Angeles, and Cherry Hill, N.J., outside of Philadelphia. (Contact our offices).

The firm has helped secure landmark results in each of these areas, from a record-setting $190 million asbestos verdict in 2013, to a string of multimillion dollar verdicts and settlements on behalf of clients injured by defective drugs and medical devices, to the $7.8 billion settlement with BP in the Gulf Oil Spill litigation.
