Is your firm willing to help a client with one discrete part of a case, without taking on the whole case?

Yes.

What are your policies about dividing work within the firm to make the process most cost-effective for the client?

All bankruptcy cases are handled by two attorneys and a legal assistant. Each case is carefully reviewed by all involved before filing.

How frequently does your firm use mediation, arbitration, or collaborative law to resolve cases?

When the opportunity exists to use these practices in bankruptcy, this is preferable to expensive litigation that could take time our clients may not have. The best alternative that is available to our client is what is selected.

Does your firm provide pro bono legal services or otherwise participate in your community?

We work very closely with the Volunteer Lawyers Program to provide pro bono services. Additionally, each attorney volunteers with the Street Law program during the summers, to offer legal services to those unable to afford attorney services. Elizabeth Wallace participates in the bankruptcy screening process for the Volunteer Lawyers Program.

What distinguishes your law firm from others?

We believe that the services of attorneys should be readily available to those who need them, when they need them most, and that cost should not be a prohibitive factor in securing counsel. We provide excellent services, while maintaining low-cost alternatives for our clients.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Our website contains very detailed information about the different types of bankruptcy available to our clients, how the laws may apply to them, and what the process entails. Additionally, the other areas of law that our attorneys practice are outlined on our website, including information packets and how to gather the required documents to prepare for meeting with the attorneys. We do maintain a Facebook page with recent articles about bankruptcy, in order to allow clients to keep up with changing trends in law and court procedure.

Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?

Yes.

Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

Yes.
