Firm Overview

Bernson Legal, PLLC was formed with belief that good people need a good attorney, one that works for them, using experience, knowledge of the community, and a commitment to good service to help Clients achieve goals that are important to them. Put simply, Attorney Bernson wanted to create a law firm and provide a legal service that was truly Client centered. Instead of being passed off to associates and administrative staff, with the Client incurring those added costs, Attorney Bernson will handle every facet of your legal problem, processing your legal problem with more efficiency and for less cost. Attorney Bernson will provide you with personal representation, which includes Attorney Bernson returning telephone calls and emails herself. Understanding that a Client needs to work and be available for other obligations, while managing his or her highly personal legal problem, Attorney Bernson now offers evening and weekend hours, so you don't have the added stress of worrying about losing your job to meet with your lawyer.

Bernson Legal, PLLC brings to Dover that small town lawyer of the past whose doors are open to everyone, regardless of income status, and a lawyer who individually handles your personal legal problems herself.

How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

I chose litigation because I enjoy helping individuals through a complicated system of rules, at a time in their life where they truly need assistance. Family law, Probate litigation, and Criminal law all encompass areas of inquiry I enjoy: mental health issues, family dynamics, and the human condition.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

Understanding the legal process makes communicating with your lawyer a more productive experience. However, there is a considerable difference between what the law says and how it works in practice. Clients are encouraged to understand the issues in their particular cases.

Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?

New Hampshire offers attorneys the ability to offer "unbundled services." Reviewing documents prepared by clients is done on a case by case situation.

Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

Bernson Legal, PLLC does not coach clients who want to represent themselves.

Tracy A. Bernson

Attorney Tracy A. Bernson formed Bernson Legal, PLLC, after working as a Senior Partner and Managing Attorney of a seacoast law firm.

Attorney Bernson left the medium sized firm to do what she loves best: representing clients, being in the Courtroom, and using unique and alternative methods to tailor a resolution to a client's personal dilemma. Completely dissatisfied with the role of managing and training people, and not being hands on with her clients, Attorney Bernson opened Bernson Legal, PLLC to bring to Dover that small town lawyer whose doors are open to everyone, regardless of income status, and who individually handles your personal legal problems herself.

Everyday that I enter a court room, meet with a client, or talk to a colleague, I become a better lawyer.

I am an experienced trial attorney who has a direct approach with dealing with legal problems; I face them head on and with confidence.

She loves going to the beach year round, cooking, and playing with her Boston Terrier.
