How did your firm decide on the primary area of practice(s)?

As mentioned above, the opportunity to help people in times of stress or need has always had appeal for me. Bankruptcy certainly would fit that bill.

What is your firm's point of view regarding clients educating themselves on legal issues?

While I certainly wouldn't recommend representing oneself in the Bankruptcy Court, I do sometimes find it helpful if the client has done a little bit of research and thereby understands what I'm talking about a little more clearly than he or she otherwise would.

Is your firm willing to review documents prepared by clients?

I will do that on occasion.

Is your firm willing to coach clients who want to represent themselves?

We are simply too busy with those clients who are paying for our representation to do this.

Todd Mannis

I have operated my own practice since I became an attorney .

For better (or worse!), I am a perfectionist. I have always been interested in aviation and am a private pilot. In that environment, attention to detail is essential, with procedures, checklists, etc. You never want to get "behind the aircraft." I approach my work in the same manner.

Our strength is, without a doubt, our personal touch. From the very first inquiry, we take the time to really listen to our clients and reach out. We do NOT simply say let's set up an appointment and we can talk then - we often spend quite a bit of time right on the initial telephone call. Our clients repeatedly tell us that this is why they retained us, that we were the only ones who really listened and who really seemed to care about their situation.

Personal interests:

I am a private pilot so my main passion is flying. I also enjoy skiing, travel, and just relaxing.
