Mr. Weber comes from a rich background of experience in both life and law and since 1991, has represented hundreds of clients at both the trial and appellate level. Mr. Weber's background as both a Defense and Plaintiff's trial attorney, a successful mediator as well as a Certified Arbitrator gives him a broad range of expertise that allow him to serve a very select group of clients. He has a passion for the international community and has engaged in human rights work in several countries including Russia, Ukraine, Mexico and the continent of Africa.
After completing his undergraduate degree at Columbia International University and graduating in the
top of his class at the University of South Carolina School of Law, he joined one of the most prestigious defense firms in the Southeast. During his tenure at Smith Helms Helms & Moore, he engaged in an active defense practice for several years in both the State and Federal Courts as well as before the North Carolina Industrial Commission. Mr. Weber has also served as the panel attorney for the National Football Players Association as well as the National Hockey league where he has represented numerous professional athletes in contract negotiations. He has obtained several multi-million dollar judgements in Federal Court on behalf of the Recording Industry of America.
Mr. Weber's securities background has given him a unique perspective on counseling clients through the various phases of securities litigation. A graduate of the Commodities Educational Institute and the Payne Weber securities training school, Mr. Weber worked on both the Chicago Board of Options Exchange as well as the Chicago Board of Trade. He later became a licensed broker for Payne Webber Jackson & Curtiss managing pension and profit sharing assets as well as serving as an option specialist. As an attorney, he has and continues to serve clients in a broad variety of security matters nationwide including securities fraud, securities arbitration and securities litigation matters as well as advising clients seeking to raise venture capital. The firm's practice is focused on representing investors that have lost money due to the negligence and misdeeds of their stockbrokers and financial advisors and the failure to supervise by their broker-dealers.
Mr. Weber's years of experience as both defense and plaintiff's counsel give him an in-depth perspective that enhances his ability to counsel clients through every phase of litigation. Mr. Weber is also a North Carolina Arbitrator and has served as lead counsel in numerous mediations.
Outside of his law practice, Mr. Weber engages in leadership development throughout the United States as well as other parts of the world as a speaker, trainer and writer. Mr. Weber is also an ordained Priest in the Anglican church and currently serves as the Chancellor of his denomination. In addition to his law degree, he holds a Master of Divinity Degree. In his free time, he loves to cook, read, hang out with his family (he has five children and six grandchildren), watch ACC basketball and is a die-hard Panther's fan.
