Bankruptcy
We offer representation in Chapter 7, 13 and 11 Bankruptcy cases to both individuals and businesses.
The Firm represents individuals and businesses in bankruptcy cases under Chapters 7, 11 and 13 of the US Bankruptcy Code. We are experienced, not just in the nuts and bolts of preparing petitions to obtain maximum debt relief, but in protecting our clients' rights against creditors and effectively and efficiently obtaining relief for automatic stay and discharge violations. Unlike many bankruptcy lawyers, we are also litigators and will aggressively represent our clients in both defensive and pro-active adversary proceedings and state court proceedings to defend our clients in bankruptcy from predatory creditors.

Amy Knapp

A life long resident of New Jersey, Amy L. Knapp focuses her practice in the areas of bankruptcy, debt negotiation and mortgage modifications.

Before obtaining her law degree from Widener University in 2000, Ms. Knapp earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Public Administration from Rowan College. Ms. Knapp’s desire to go to law school stems directly from her work in social services with Pemberton Township Department of Public Assistance and local non-profit organizations, where she assisted homeless individuals and families in transition.

As of Counsel to the Law Offices of Scott J. Goldstein, LLC, Ms. Knapp continues her commitment to helping individuals and families in need. Ms. Knapp has been recognized by the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey for her continued dedicated service and volunteerism efforts with the Rutgers University Bankruptcy Pro Bono Project and has partnered with TOUCH, NJ, a non-profit organization whose sole mission is to help alleviate poverty by providing food and resources to individuals and families in need. Ms. Knapp has also received accolades from the Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders for extending legal services to senior citizens and for her participation in consumer law-related seminars to educate senior citizens on their respective legal rights.

In her bankruptcy practice, Ms. Knapp carries over this commitment and believes firmly in helping everyday people climb out of crushing debt. Ms. Knapp is passionate in her conviction that there is no greater service than helping the struggling hard working people of New Jersey rebuild through personal bankruptcy. Ms. Knapp believes that this is a very challenging time for so many of us. In such an environment, the system can work against those who need it most. Ms. Knapp is here to fight the obstacles that are keeping her clients from reaching their dreams.
