Originally from the Atlanta area, James moved south to attend the University of Florida, where he earned a B.A. in Linguistics in 2006. After spending a year working as a clerk for a law firm in Gainesville, James attended law school at Florida State University and earned his J.D. in 2010.
James also does some freelance writing from time to time. His published work includes a legal disclaimer that was featured on the humor site McSweeney's (and later quoted in The Wall Street Journal).
